A Message from Flowers' Foods Director of Sustainability

Sustainability is about taking sound actions that preserve natural resources for future generations. For companies like Flowers Foods, it's also about finding a way to balance the need to sustain with the need to return value to shareholders at a time when energy, water, and food ingredients are becoming more costly. People, water, agricultural commodities, and energy are a baker's major resources and we could not have prospered for more than 80 years without continually looking for ways to operate efficiently and use those resources wisely. But actions aren't enough. When it comes to conservation, it also takes the right attitude. That's why the motto for our bakery Green Teams is "Green" not just a color, but an attitude.  We're proud our employees and associates understand the importance of sustainability and are using their enthusiasm and good ideas both on the job and at home. Working together, we can find new ways to conserve and preserve.

Flowers Foods' commitment to sustainability makes us a stronger corporate citizen as we do what is right for all our stakeholders and the environment.

Our progress:
